S.T.E.M. Vanguards in the Community
There is a lack of STEM Education integration within programs designed for children ages 3 to 5 in the central California region. Many educators believe using the disciplines of interconnected developmental appropriate practices in early childhood education involving the integration of STEM education will introduce advance learning within young children (Moomaw& Davis, 2010). The President’s Council for Science and Technology Report (2012) indicate the success of bridging the vacancies of STEM careers is to introduce STEM education at the preschool level. S.T.E.M. Vanguards believe the interest of early exposure starts as a family. We have developed a fun and rewarding way for families to explore science, technology, engineering, and math.

STEM Vanguards conducted a Preschool Integration Training for the Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership (DEEP). This community event helped to advance Family Home Childcare Directors knowledge of including STEM in their daily activities at minimal program expense. We thank them of allowing us to share our passion for STEM Education.
